Thanks to a Townsends video today I learned Tears Of The Kingdom’s baked onions aren’t so strange after all, in fact “roasted” onions have some neat culinary & medicinal history irl! 👀

To be honest, something I see a lot in fanfiction is the reasoning for Dream’s mask being about how Dream can’t control his facial expressions well and is too readable, making him vulnerable to people knowing exactly what he’s thinking and feels. Personally though, especially now that we can reasonably say that Dream is autistic, I think it’s actually the opposite.

At least in my experience, with myself and with other autistic people, often the trouble is making the appropriate facial expression with the proper enthusiasm. Like telling a joke and people not know if you are kidding or not because you say it with such a straight face. Something I really struggle with is emoting excitement and joy so I have to be extra conscious of making sure my face is portraying how I feel so people don’t get the wrong idea.

The other thing I have to be aware of facially is eye contact, making sure to do the proper amount and/or don’t look somewhere else that makes it seem like you aren’t paying attention. (This is something I’ve realized since diagnosis that I am good at but hate, which is why I plan socializing around activities so I can focus on that instead of looking at the person.)

These are just a couple of the things on my mind when having a conversation (along with body language, tone of voice, what I’m saying…etc), that can really change how people perceive you. When not executed well people can really get the wrong impression of you, even thinking that you’re super intense, serious, a bitch, cold because your facial expressions are so stern and neutral, when in reality you could be feeling a lot of things (many people in high school didn’t talk to me and when asked later they said they were intimidated by me, and I think this might be one of the reasons why).

So, because of this, personally, I think Dream wears a mask not because he’s too open, but because he doesn’t emote properly or just doesn’t want to bother to try and emote properly, and dislikes eye contact. To not have to focus on making proper eye contact and facial expressions takes away that factor of misunderstanding and just makes conversing a lot less work and more comfortable. With a mask on, he doesn’t have to work on that part of his social masking (;D lol), now he can look where he wants and just have a resting bitch face if he wants to without worrying about how it comes across. That’s what I think is more likely the reason Dream wears a mask because he is actually naturally less expressive.

Furthermore, perhaps if he lost his mask in prison then maybe that’s a reason people in the prison are generally more cold to him and see him as less human because his expressions are so blank, giving people the perception that he’s very cold. Therefore making it easier for Sam and Quackity and even Tommy to hurt and dehumanize Dream in prison because subconsciously they are put off by his lack of emoting, which only further adds to the idea that Dream is some embodiment of evil…

^The regular kitties (The nothing option would make Error show up and just kinda glare at everybody lol and there would be mirror and paper bag options to see Dust and Horror again)

^The winter kitties (The snow option would bring out Blue and Dream, the christmas lights brought Fresh and the stocking was Ink)

^The special pairs (I don't think any of these made it to the polls lol but putting out a bed would bring Horror and Dust together, putting out a rainbow cushion would bring Color and Killer (this was how you would finally be able to pet him) and putting down comic books would bring Epic and Cross, who would finally purr when pet with his bestie)

Oooh this is a great question! Okay this is going to be a little long so we'll go chronological. So Exdee finding out his son has gone missing, and Dream landing in the Nether. Well he wasn't happy that's for sure. As far as he knows, one moment Dream was there, and then the next:

As to why he's gone missing... I've been going back and forth with it being either enemies of the End, or another god jealous that Exdee created non-mob life, and wanted to take it for themselves. (Could be both idk at the moment ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Dream would have been something incredibly powerful if he'd stayed as a "demi-god" but now that he's a player - godhood is firmly out of his hands. Something about him being part of all three(?) gods' domains now. Closest thing he could get to that was to become an Admin (which is something similar to being a Warlock - where you have a patron god granting you the power to change your chosen world). Back to Exdee- He raged for days, tearing the End apart looking for his boy; side note - the End used to be a huge continent, which uh... when I say he tore it apart - there's a reason why the End is now a collection of islands. After tearing through his realm he tried to tear through the other ones, which was firmly stopped by both the Nether God (?) and the Overworld God (Lady Death), who at this point have no idea what's set him off. All they could get out of him was: "My Dream, My Dream is gone."

Lady Death does get the story out of him after a while, where he begs her to check that Dream hasn't become a part of her domain. Which she confirms he hasn't. But neither has any idea where he could have ended up, since usually falling into the void sent you to the Overworld. So Dream is MIA for a while before he's suddenly pops into existence in the Nether. The Nether God does tell Exdee eventually (after Exdee gets word from an Enderman) but due to it not being Exdee's Domain, he just kinda has to sit and watch his kid get into trouble without being able to help. He's not okay for a long time.

things i do to keep myself sane (sorted by time of day) as a shifter who does not shift to her dr as frequently nor as long as she'd like to:

journal in the morning when i wake up. practise gratitude. maybe meditate if i'm feeling quirky. check my schedule, check my email, check my to-do list (and update it if necessary)

go through the motions of this reality all day (yes i have an extensive, detailed google calendar that dictates ~18 hours of my day to help me go through the day with as little thought as possible. it's great both for productivity and for detaching/shifting/loa)

i've declared 10:30PM "shifting time" (aka bed time), so i don't work or do anything related to this reality after 6PM. around 6PM, i start daydreaming about my dr, connecting with my dr(self), and winding down without ever acknowledging "responsibilities" and "obligations" and "the future" of this reality

Choso my beloved aghagh <3 i think as part curse who isn't used to this world, he is just- so allergic to most things. And also just the most sensitive, I put 'weird allergy', it doesn't exactly fit, but I hc so hard that if you touch/stroke/anything on his facial markings, the one over his nose, it gets him so desperately sneezy~ little kitten snz too, that he stifles instinctually, no one taught him he just does it~

I think he gets sick a lot, again, not used to the world, and he does not know/care to take care of himself well enough to prevent it, and he doesn't want to get anyone else sick (especially his 'family') but he also doesn't want to be alone <3

And yet, the second to last didn't die by her hand nor by the bleeding she inflicted upon it. The last one tried to run, and before she could reach him, cold iron darts went right past her again, impaling him to a tree and returning to her wounded friend as they recalled them back. Invisibility on her didn't drop as it had on who accompanied her on that mission... making them an easy target.

"I was trying to save you. Is this how you repay me?" Things were becoming a blur, but she clearly felt her arm move. One, defined strike was all it would have taken. She knew since the beginning.

She wasn't able to hold back from finishing the job.
